WinStitch 2010

Currently using PCStitch for graphed design work but recently, I've been getting motifs in other formats. This usually means having to regraph it into PCStitch to integrate into a design. What I need to search for is a graphing application that converts all types of graph formats.  This looks like something worthwhile to look into.

Here's a recent take on this software.  I like PCStitch interface much much better. So what's so intriging about this software?

Pro
-- I like the way it takes graphed charts and converts it to look a little like the stitched item.
-- There's a plug-in that needs to be purchased that converts the graph to machine embroidery formats... but read carefully under help.  You have to purchase the add-in for $18.00 from Myria. I didn't read carefully and ended up purchasing Myria Cross for full price  $38.00

Con
-- PC Stitch is a much cleaner interface to work with.

Mary Beale

Found some really cool Mary Beale Needlework cards
  • Button Bag
  • Needle Rollup
  • Renaissance Sampler
  • Round Needle Book
  • Sampler Pin Case
  • Thimble Cozy
  • Decorative Housewife
  • Fancy Pin Cushion & Tape measure
  • Victorian Doll
  • Work Bag
The cards are in black and white so I have to rechart it in color just to see what it looks like in color. Better yet, the designs are really small... I should just stitch it.

I'll post a picture of the cards at a later date.

Quaker Diamonds

Quaker Diamonds by Rosewood Manor.

Design called for Valdani threads but I substituted the colors with Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Art threads. Fabric used is 25 count lugana.

The picture doesn't do it justice. I'll have to take another later.

I really enjoyed working this piece. I have other works in progress but I always came back to this one. It had such a calming effect.

As I was going through rooms... cleaning them out, I happened to come across this frame... and lo and behold... it fit the design perfectly. Coincidence? Hmm... I always wished for a wall just for samplers. THIS is the first piece for the sampler wall. Everytime I walk past it, it motivates me to finish the others.
